With a silhouette inspired by the opulence of the Art Nouveau era, this butterfly-sleeved kimono robe can be worn in two ways - one traditionally tied from back to front around the waist, and the other just through the back to create a cinched bustle.

Butterfly-sleeved kimono robe with contrast ruffle trim at collar.

This loungewear/pyjama robe uses a romantic, vintage toile-inspired print featuring two muses influencing the sun and moon. Drawn in a technique inspired by vintage illustrations in antique hardcovers. Available in Midnight Forest and Sage.

Fabric Content

100% Tencel Paris Satin

Tencel is an eco-friendly fabric made out of sustainably harvested trees. The solvents that are used to break down the wood pulp is recycled repeatedly into the manufacturing process, significantly reducing wastage and pollution than one would find in the making of similar fabrics such as viscose or rayon.

The fabric is digitally printed using fewer pigments and water than used in dyeing, also resulting in less wastage and pollution.

Garment Care

Hand wash only (in cold water) and hang to dry.

Sizing

We have adjusted our sizing since the last time we cut this style. Three sizeways are now available - S-M, L-XL and 1X-2X. S-M fits numerical sizes 0-8, L-XL fits sizes 10-16, and 1X-2X fits sizes 18-24. Below are the body measurements that the style was designed to fit as well as the garment's measurements when laid flat. As we are just starting out, we have a smaller size range which we aim to expand with future recuts and collections.

The Petite sizing has all the same dimensions as the original sizing, but it is 7" shorter.

Emma is 5'5" and is wearing a size S-M.

Within 30 days of purchase, we accept returns or exchanges for unworn, unwashed, and unaltered items. Items must be returned in original packaging with all tags attached. For returns, a refund will be issued to the original form of payment at the original selling price. Sale items over 25% off will not be eligible for a refund.

Not shown in the pics, but this robe has slits for the tie on both the front and back of the robe allowing for many different options depending on your preference. Want to billow like Snape? Channel Gandalf’s ‘You Shall Not Pass!’? Be a fabulous bitch like Clarice Kensington before shipping your step child off to boarding school in Europe? Feel like Rose slipping Jack a coin after drawing your portrait? Watch your train slide down the stairs after you as you make your princess entrance, catching the Duke’s eye? Perhaps you seek the perfect outfit to channel your feminine energy while composing vicious come-backs to put the most arrogant and misogynistic of men into a downward spiral of insecurity. Or perhaps you may just wish, as I do, to feel whimsical as you blob into the squashiest reading chair you can afford and fully dissociate from this traumatizing reality, mentally world-walking to anywhere with dragons, shadow daddies, magic, and men who fully embrace consent. Just put on this robe, apply your skin care, grab your favorite treat drink, and let the dregs of your mortal existence fade into the back of your mind as you plunge into your novel.

Now, to details. Recommend? 1000% just on vibes. It came beautifully packaged with a personalized card and dried rose with a wax seal, and just felt special to open. The fit is again highly customizable. I am 5’5 and 160, usually wearing a ~12. I got the regular length L/XL. It is plenty big, it’s basically a giant almost rectangle, but the tie and the tie slits really let it drape in beautify ways. It does skim the floor on me. I don’t mind, but go petite if you are any shorter, and unless you are over 6ft, plan to lift your robe skirt as you go up the stairs.

This garment is almost perfect for all bodies as is. However, I have two small notes that I would recommend if TBoN ever makes a deluxe version of this robe. First, I would have loved to see it lined either with more of the same fabric or a solid coordinating color. Some of the ways to tie it make fabulous waterfalls/pleats of fabric that are beautiful, but somewhat diminished by seeing the white backside of the fabric (inside the sleeves as well). I imagine this would introduce significantly more time and expense, thus perhaps include this as an upgrade option? Second, while the billowy, kimono-style sleeves to the wrist are GIVING, they can be a bit unwieldy if you are doing anything active. As someone who is neurospicy and can occasionally be triggered by fighting with my clothes, I would love to see a hidden tie to give the option of raising the sleeves to the elbows.

Overall, love what you are doing, zero regrets with this purchase, will be aggressively proselytizing this product to anyone who will listen!

I love this robe so much! Honestly one of the prettiest garments I’ve ever owned, especially for nightwear. I immediately ordered the nightgown to wear underneath it. The fabric is so soft and the color/design is perfect. Makes me feel like goddess or Victorian princess in my tiny apartment. Highly recommend!

Dramatic Robe of my Dreams

This robe is amazing. I was cautiously optimistic from the photos and reviews, and it surpassed all my expectations. Firstly, the fabric is incredible; it is so soft and light, but still has a beautiful drape to it that makes the robe flow and move exactly the way you want it to. It is really well constructed - despite all the dramatic swags and drapes, it is cunningly designed such that I can move around in it unimpeded. I was worried I would have to be gathering and picking it up all the time and it wouldn't turn out to be practical or usable. To my pleasant surprise, it is not only beautiful, it is something I can actually wear. Highly, highly recommend!
