A nightgown made for wandering at dusk or catching the first rays at dawn - the Phaedra nightgown creates a floating, dreamy presence.

Inspired by Regency era nightgowns with wide-set gathered straps and gathered empire waist bodice, this timeless silhouette is reminiscent of romantic heirloom lingerie. The bodice is lightly lined and the waist is elasticized for extra comfort. And of course, the skirt has pockets to carry your small belongings.

This nightgown uses a romantic, vintage-inspired print called "Ophelia's Reverie" featuring Ophelia dreaming in a moonlit pond next to her rowboat and a variety of fragrant flowers. Drawn in a technique inspired by vintage illustrations in antique hardcovers, this print wears very black. Also available in Solid Ivory and in "Romancing the Moon" Sage and Midnight Forest.

Fabric Content

100% Lyocell Voile

Lyocell is an eco-friendly fabric made out of sustainably harvested trees and is the generic name for Tencel. The solvents that are used to break down the wood pulp is recycled repeatedly into the manufacturing process, significantly reducing wastage and pollution than one would find in the making of similar fabrics such as viscose or rayon.

The fabric is digitally printed using fewer pigments and water than used in dyeing, also resulting in less wastage and pollution.

Crafted from a Lyocell voile, this fabric is chosen for its ethereal lightness and breathability—an homage to antique heirloom nightgowns designed for comfort in sleep.

Over time and with washing, the fibers soften beautifully, enhancing the fabric’s fluid drape and delicate hand.

Garment Care

Machine wash (in cold water) and dry on delicate cycles or hang to dry.

Sizing

This style is available in sizes xsmall to 2X. Below are the body measurements that the style was designed to fit as well as the garment's measurements when laid flat. As we are just starting out, we have a smaller size range which we aim to expand with future recuts and collections.

It is recommended that the bust circumference in the body measurement chart below be followed to determine sizing.

Dream nightgown

The fabric is so beautiful and dreamy/airy. Very comfortable. I love it so much! I also found that it accommodates a large chest (size XL for a 38I bust) very well.

For sizing, I ordered a M in all pieces, and it fits my 5'4 curvy frame well (36DD, 28 waist, 42 hip). My shoulders are narrow, so the wider straps help. Everything is very well made.

I initially reviewed my Phaedra nightgown in pondwater the day I purchased it and gave it 4 out of 5 stars. I wouldn't normally review an item twice because that seems a bit strange, but after wearing my nightgown for some time, I had some additional thoughts that I wanted to express, especially for shorter women. The gown is still beautiful and very soft. However, I've noticed that the straps are just too long for someone my height. I'm 5'3". This makes the bust sit dangerously low, and i find im constantly in danger of falling out of the top of it. The straps on the Phaedra in particular are also very wide set, which causes them to cut uncomfortably into my arm pits any time I reach or lean forward. I plan to take the nightgown to a tailor at some point to have the straps shortened and moved more inward. I love these gowns. I'd love to buy more in this style, but it seems hard to justify when I'd have to inevitably take them in and pay to get further adjustments.
